Research and Project Highlights

Introduction

“No monopolices tus conocimientos ni impongas arrogantemente tus técnicas...pero difunde y comparte lo que has aprendido junto con la gente, de manera que sea totalmente comprensible e incluso literario y agradable, porque la ciencia no debería ser necesariamente un misterio ni un monopolio de expertos e intelectuales” – Orlando Fals Borda (1995)

Welcome–I am a Research Scientist at Harvard Law School. I received my Ph.D. in Political Science and International Relations from the University of Southern California (USC), where I also served as a Graduate Research Associate in both the Democracy Lab and the Security and Political Economy Lab (SPEC). Prior to joining Harvard, I worked as a Survey Statistician at the U.S. Census Statistical Research Data Center (FSRDC) at USC.

Substantively, my work sits at the intersection of Political Institutions, Race and Gender Identity, and Causal Inference, with a focus on how political elites' identity shapes their access to power and decision-making as a result of it. Some of my work is forthcoming in the Journal of Race, Ethnicity, and Politics and the Journal of Experimental Political Science. You can find more on these and other ongoing projects on the Research page.

I am also the creator of TextViz Studio, a no-code platform for social scientists that makes advanced text analysis and statistical modeling more accessible, intuitive, and interactive.

In addition, I contribute to the Everyday Respect Project at USC, analyzing how police-community interactions shape public trust and perceptions of safety in Los Angeles.

I hold a B.A. in Political Science from California State University, Long Beach, and a Master of Public Policy (M.P.P.) from USC’s Sol Price School of Public Policy, where I focused on Applied Econometrics.

Outside of academia, I enjoy studying languages, traveling, and amateur photography, some of which you can see in the Photography section.
